Elimination System (SPDES) permit for construction dewatering activities.
In accordance with NYSDEC Commissioner Policy 29, Environmental Justice and Permitting (CP-29), Equinor is hosting a public meeting to provide the public with information regarding the dewatering activities.

The Empire Wind team and Operation SPLASH joined forces on Friday to close out Climate Week. We cleaned the Western Bays removing microplastics, Styrofoam, construction materials, and other debris from local marshes. If you haven’t already, check out Operation SPLASH, a volunteer-based organization dedicated to improving the quality of LI’s south shore bays, waterways, and beaches. Since 1990, its members have removed more than 3 million pounds of trash

The $5 million community investment fund has been established by Equinor Wind US and developed in collaboration with the New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Sunset Park Task Force to support sustainable growth, empowerment of underserved areas, and climate justice in the offshore wind ecosystem in New York City.
A significant portion of the awards will be made to frontline and environmental justice communities and priority will be given to minority/women owned and service-disabled veteran owned businesses.
